The Magic and Serendipity of Travel

“I learned no matter where the water has to go it will always reach the ocean.”

–Wendy Wagner, PhD

Do You Believe in Serendipity?

This is the second of a four part series. If you decide to dive in here, Wendy provides a synopsis of the first podcast.

In this second segment, Wendy takes off to Samoa, BoraBora, Easter Island and eventually lands in Santiago, Chile. In Chile things do not go as planned and Wendy finds herself alone in an isolated mountain town, except for one friend, an old book she finds in a tiny, cluttered bookstore.

Serendipity

The name of the book: “The Pilgram’s Progress : From this world to that which is to come delivered under the similitude of a dream wherein is discovered. The manner of his getting out, his dangerous journey, and safe arrival at the desired country.” by John Bunion in 1678

The book may have been the only English publication in town. Is it a sign? A bit of serendipity? What relevance could it have for Wendy’s journey?

Listen in as Wendy continues her story of adventure and serendipity, from Samoa to BoraBora, and from Easter Island to Chile.

Next week, Wendy seeks out a guide to whom she’s been directed and she starts her trek into the mountains.

About
Bump in the Road

Everyone hits a bump in the road. The question becomes: What do you do with it?

I share stories about how people experience, manage and navigate life's bumps, hopefully using them as a pivot into a more conscious and meaningful life.
