“Break The Rules.”
-Donna Bond
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

What do you fear most? Complacency or change? Sooner or later most of us find ourselves at a place where we simply have to make a jump into the unknown. What guides us on such journeys? Donna Bond turns towards a practice of spiritual psychology.
What exactly is spiritual psychology?
The University of Santa Monica defines spiritual psychology as the study and practice of the art and science of Conscious Awakening. The website goes on to point out that “if you look up the word “psyche” in the dictionary, you will find “breath, principle of life, Soul.” But if you look up “psychology,” you will find “the science of mind and behavior.”
Where do the two meet?
Donna Bond has a masters and PhD in spiritual psychology. At the age of 44, she left a high paying, globe trotting corporate job to….well, she wasn’t quite sure what she would do. All she knew for sure was that life had become stale and she needed a change. She segwayed into a self employed marketing consultant until, one day, a friend suggested she come on a retreat at the university.
“Hey Donna, just come for one weekend and see what happens.”
And what happened changed her life.
Donna enrolled in the master’s program and set off on a quest she never anticipated. Her quest upset her belief system, away from the linear world towards her internal wisdom. She came to realize that
I am not smarter than the universe.
I am not smarter than my own wisdom.
But one’s internal wisdom can seem at odds with the man made world. How does one follow one’s authentic self and still navigate the so called real world?
This conversation is about life’s pivots, our willingness to expand our world and trusting our inner wisdom to guide us. It’s about our desire for comfort and familiarity versus risk and uncertainty. It’s about having the courage to consciously craft your life.
This is a terrific conversation full of great stories and even more wisdom. I hope you enjoy it! You can connect with Donna through her website DonnaBond.com
