Where does wisdom come from and how does one find it?

I think wisdom finds us, not the other way around and it’s usually the result of a bump in the road.

Tom Hagerty has hit many bumps. from navigating a late-in-life divorce to founding a startup in the advertising industry.  Tom candidly discusses his career as an intrapreneur and entrepreneur, highlighting the challenges he faced in the early 2000s when he founded a company aimed at revolutionizing advertising. He secured funding, got the company off the ground, but then the 2008 financial crisis hit, technology shifted, and his market disappeared. From this and other experiences, Tom talks about how his bumps in the road have led to personal growth.

Tom’s book “The Business of Relationships”   was originally written for his children, to provide them with life wisdom. But it resonates with a far larger audience, offering quotes and thoughts on the many elements of relationship such as perspective, honesty, integrity and more.

This conversation offers practical advice but also inspires you to reflect on your own journey. Because in personal reflection there is personal growth. And that’s the foundation of wisdom for all of us.
