“Quiet the mind and the soul will speak.”
– Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati
It is impossible to choose the “best” podcast. Every conversation and every person is special. I learn from all my guests and I’m so grateful for their wisdom.
So instead of “the best” I’ve decided to highlight some different categories for the last two weeks of December. This final post is about mindfulness, meditation, and living your best life.
With New Year’s resolutions on the horizon, why not resolve to learn to meditate?
Meditation isn’t necessarily about sitting in silence, observing your breath and zoning out for a time. It can be found in nature and in mindful activities. Meditation is more about finding personal peace and taking it with you wherever you go. It’s about learning to observe those voices in our minds, and to quiet them. Only in that silence can we then choose what our thoughts may be. And choosing your thoughts is a key part of living a conscious life.
Here are three very different stories about how a meditative practice changed people lives.
Pragito Dove: Laughter Meditation
“The whole trick of it is to learn to disidentify from the mind. The minds knows facts but has no wisdom. Wisdom comes from the heart.”
Shane Cooke: Mindfulness and The Chef
“If you can adapt beginner’s mind, everything becomes a wonderful adventure.”
